Nabi Sets Sights on Mayele, Orebonye
Kaizer Chiefs are reportedly interested in acquiring the services of two strikers.
After being officially appointed as the new head coach of Amakhosi last weekend, Nasreddine Nabi is wasting no time looking to improve their offence before the upcoming 2024/25 season.
According to reports, Nabi has his eyes on two talented forwards: Fiston Mayele and Tumisang Orebonye.
Mayele is currently playing for Pyramids FC in Egypt, where he scored 15 goals in 34 appearances across all competitions last season. The 30-year-old Congolese national was also coached by Nabi during their time at Young Africans SC in Tanzania.
Orebonye, a 28-year-old player from Botswana, is currently playing for the Moroccan team AS FAR Rabat, whom Nabi coached before joining Chiefs. Orebonye scored four goals in 15 games during their recent Botola Pro League campaign.
It is unclear if talks have begun between the Chiefs and the duo, although it cannot be denied that they could provide a significant boost to the Soweto giants’ attacking options if one or both of them were ever to be signed.
